Medical Program:

• Study Medicine in CHINA from Zhongshan University.
• MBBS in China in Zhongshan University is regulated by Ministry of Education in CHINA.
• Bachelor of Dental Surgery(BDS) program is taught in English in CHINA
• English taught Doctors of Dental Surgery   / Bachelor of Dental Surgery (BDS) is regulated by Ministry of education.
• Bachelors in Nursing is taught in Zhongshan University, CHINA
• Bachelors in Pharmacy is taught in Zhongshan University, CHINA

At present, the University runs three joint programs formally approved by the Ministry of Education and the Office of Degree-granting of the State Council:

1. CHEMBA Master of Business Administration for High-ranking Executives on the job
This program was approved by the Ministry of Education and the Degree-granting Office of the State Council in 1999, and is co-managed by the Lingnan (University) College of the University and the Carson School of Management of the University of Minnesota in the US.

2. DESS Master in International Trade
The Sino-French DESS program offering master degree in international trade is co-managed by the municipal government of Lyons, France and the Foundation of Education in State Enterprise Management, the School of Business Management in No. 3 University of France, the Institute of Higher Management in Lyons and the Lingnan (University) College of Sun Yat-sen University, and is a Sino-foreign Cooperative School Program in training professionals at the tertiary level. The program had run 4 sessions since 1998, and the fifth session is now enrolling.

3、 Undergraduate education in Chinese
Approved by the Ministry of Education, Sun Yat-sen University and Hanoi University of Foreign Languages in Vietnam cooperate in offering undergraduate education in Chinese for Vietnamese students. The main program is based on the “Curricula of the Specialty in Chinese language (university level)” of the university, and is implemented in the mode of “2 plus 2” (The students study in Vietnam for two years, then come to Sun Yat-sen University for two more years.) Both parties will work together to train advanced students of Chinese for Vietnam according to the characteristics of the Vietnamese students. Upon passing the examinations, the qualified students will be awarded the diploma of undergraduate studies and the degree of Bachelor. The first batch of students have begun their four-year undergraduate studies in Hanoi in November 2003.

Office of International Cooperation and Exchange
Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs

Formally the Office of External Affairs, the Office of International Cooperation and Exchange was named in 1999 after reforms in the university organizational structure were carried out. There are four sections: Office of International Students, Section of Overseas Affairs, Section of Academic Exchange, and Section of General Affairs. It also serves as the Office of Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan Affairs.
The main responsibility of the office is to conduct international cooperation and exchange in education and research via all channels and to serve as the connection between the University and the international academic world. Its daily routines include: enrolment and management of international students, handling of application and visa for short-term (less than six months) business visits to foreign countries (including Hong Kong, Macao and Taiwan areas), hiring of long-term and short-term foreign experts, reception of visiting scholars and guests, handling of programs run by foundations, conducting academic exchange with foreign universities and those beyond the mainland and establishing relation; application and management of hosting international academic conference by the University, etc.
In order to serve the teaching and learning and research better, the Department has formulated a series of regulations for handling foreign affairs as instructed by the departments at the higher rank and based on the conditions of the office, so as to conduct our work in the regular, procedural and scientific way and to provide high-efficiency, good-quality service.
